At PACE Credit Union, our goal is to make a difference in people’s lives. We build mutually supportive relationships to create wealth, enhance quality of life and serve the needs of the community. In June 2010, PACE Credit Union gave the first major donation which jump started the flood of contributions that came in at the end of the school year. By the winter break, the goal of $30 000 was reached and in January 2011 a grant of $14 000 was approved by the then Minister of Veterans Affairs. With the total amount of $44 000 acquired the process began to restore the Memorial, to be completed in time for November 11th 2011.
PACE believes in community and was strongly compelled by the Malvern Memorial’s story. “I’m really impressed with the community’s ability to pull together; I commend the leadership of the people that made today’s dedication a reality. I am proud to work for a company that sees these types of projects as meaningful,” said Dan Coldwell, VP Business Development for PACE Credit Union who was asked to speak on behalf of all of the donors and their efforts in the restoration project.
PACE Credit Union has been providing banking services to Canadians for generations and we are proud and honoured to be partners in this generation’s efforts to restore the Malvern Memorial. The community can now continue to look on the Malvern Memorial and see in it a symbol of what people can accomplish when the community comes together for the benefit of all.
