The World Awaits – Where to Go?
To gain life experience from travel, you can go across the world or across the city, so it is a matter of determining your budget and your time available to choose the best destinations for your trip. These popular choices can provide an amazing adventure or a much-needed break:
Cruise Ships: Fly to Vancouver and take an Alaskan Cruise, or set sail into the Caribbean out of Miami. Disney World in Florida also offers amazing cruise packages! The benefits of a cruise are all-inclusive meals, exploring new cities at ports-of-call, entertainment on board from movies to live stage shows and sports adventure like rock-climbing and wave skimming, but the trip can be pricey.
Train Tours: Whether you want to ride the Central Algoma Railway in Ontario or travel across the country on VIA Rail or into the States on Amtrak, there are hundreds of incredible train journeys available at all price levels. If you are not in a hurry and can enjoy the slower pace of rail travel, this may be for you!
Winter Festivals in Ontario & Quebec: Not far from home, many towns and cities offer winter festivals and carnivals with ice carving competitions, friendly people and lots of daily fun for short weekend trips or day-long getaways.
New York City: One of the most popular destination cities in the United States, it offers the opportunity for designer shopping, gazing at the Statue of Liberty, taking in a Broadway show and more. If you like big cities and urban getaways, New York may be for you.
Resorts: Sunny ocean views are part of the package when you choose a resort destination. Popular choices include Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and Mexico. All-in pricing and adventure-like add-ons such as market tours and jungle exploration can provide a fabulous trip away.
Skiing: Canada offers so many fabulous ski destinations and the opportunity to package up hotels and lift tickets! You can go a little bit away from your home to find good ski hills, or travel far to try something truly new and exciting. Mont Gabriel in Quebec and Whistler in British Columbia are just two of the amazing mountains offering snow vacations!
Las Vegas: Not just about the gambling, Las Vegas offers huge entertainment choices, often with an air/hotel combination price. Meals are not usually included, but hundreds of restaurants at affordable prices can supplement your trip. There are free shows and sights on the famous strip, tickets available for top entertainment, plus day trips to nearby attractions like the Hoover Dam or a boat cruise on Lake Mead. If you’re over twenty-one, the casinos give you a place to hang out, too.
Europe: If you have a bit more to spend and a decent amount of time, you may consider travelling to European destinations such as Spain, Greece, Italy or England. A travel agent may help you best determine what appeals to you most.
Ontario’s Best Attractions: Sometimes great trips are right in your own backyard, so never forget that the world loves to visit Toronto, Ottawa and Niagara Falls. You will too!
